Columbus (a poem)
On your quest for perfection
You dream of the treasures
Of the hidden pleasures
Beyond the seven seas.
The wind whispers fortunes to your sails
And soon you will go away
Remember, the Earth is a sphere
So one day, you may end up here.
Right where you started.
To face me.
Again.
What then?
Who will be the bigger fool?
Me- for waiting for you for so long
You- for being so stubborn, so blind, so wrong.
And in the harbour echoes of sniggering time
Passing by, without a care
So you won’t try to make an effort
And seize the moment now.
This was your chance to DISCOVER ME.
